What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) comes from two Japanese words: Rei and Ki.
Rei means "the flow of Universal spiritual wisdom" and Ki refers to
"the vital life force".
Ki is the nonphysical life force that animates all living things. So if your life force is low or restricted in some areas of your body, you will be susceptible to illness. Not only does our life force energize our physical body, but it is the energetic force behind our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life.
All healers in all modalities, use the life force. However, Reiki is a special kind of life force channeled through the individual through an "attunement" received through the Reiki Master Teacher. This concept is similar to tuning a radio into a specific radio station frequency. Each level of Reiki "attunes" you to a higher frequency.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the individual's energy field and charging it with positive energy. This raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where negative thoughts and energy and feelings are stored. Reiki causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In doing so, Reiki clears, straightens and cleanses the energy pathways allowing the life force to flow in a healthy annatural way again.
Distant Reiki can be sent anywhere in the world, to the animal, vegetable, or mineral kingdoms. House blessings can also be done.
Reiki is a method of healing used for oneself and for others.
Reiki is a bio-energy process which draws energy into the practitioner for distribution on oneself or others.
Reiki is said to have been used by both Budda and Jesus Christ while on earth. Modern day practitioners also use the energy of unconditional love to heal.
Reiki can reduce, alleviate, and heal pain, discomfort or disease of any kind and on all planes. Whatever the ailment, Reiki will help.
Reiki is safe and non-invasive as practitioners only have to lightly place their hands on the receiver or just above them in order to conduct the Reiki energy.
Reiki practitioners work with the enegetic properties of the body with primary focus on the aura and the chakras.
